Women are the fuel of any economy. I read somewhere that a country that promotes women remains a prosperous country with a flourishing economy. In my country, gender equality is still picking up among individuals, in our homes, organizations and government parastatals. While I can’t wait for this to take its full form in my country and see individuals, organizations support and promote the position and stand of every women home and abroad, Let us all learn from these few quotes and why giving them an equal chance will bring the change we desire in our homes, organizations and in governance.

1.
A woman is human.

She is not better, wiser, stronger, more intelligent, more creative, or more responsible than a man.

Likewise, she is never less.

Equality is a given.

A woman is human – Vera Nazarian

2.
When God created man and woman, he was thinking, ‘Who shall I give the power to, to give birth to the next human being?’ And God chose woman. And this is the big evidence that women are powerful – Malala Yousafzai

3.
Human rights are women’s rights, and women’s rights are human rights – Hillary Clinton

4.
Men, their rights, and nothing more; women, their rights, and nothing less – Susan B. Anthony

5.
I do not wish women to have power over men; but over themselves – Mary Shelley

While most people won’t support the quotes, the question is what are we worried about? Why are you “scared” if I am to sound direct? This is not about giving women more power but for women to have equal voice in our world.

Few days ago, my wife to be (Wink) was mad at me for the fact that I got angry at something she feels I shouldn’t hahaha..Very funny but what I learnt from her that day was the fact that as men choose to share what we feel the women should know, likewise for her and I have no right to be mad.

Well, at first I didn’t see it that way, I took it for lack of patience and ego on her side but come to think of it, she only reminds me that women are smart, confident, family oriented and knows her right from wrong. So if you don’t share with her from A-Z, don’t expect the same from her and whenever she feels like sharing, no point getting angry.

I think I have said too much. Women are worth giving the chance for gender equality. They earn it, they deserve it and we should all support the introduction of such. Women, aspire to any height without looking back. Support equality today the same way you will stand for your daughter, wife and mother. I celebrate you women and salute you all. Lend your voice to gender equality today!

Inspired by you “Candie” – I will never be a stopping stone but a stepping stone to get you to wherever you want to get to in life. I respect you.
